We expect all Year 12 students to attend (and enjoy) these events as a means of celebrating the final days of their secondary schooling.

At this time of the year students find themselves under a great deal of pressure as their exams loom and end of year festivities proliferate. For this reason, driving restrictions will apply to all students during Term 4.

  • No new drivers will be permitted to drive to school.

  • The week beginning October 19 will be designated a non-driving week for students.

  • Please do not permit your son/daughter to drive to School during this week.

  • During the exam period students must park in the student designated parking areas. No student is permitted to park in the Pavilion or Chapel car parks.

Parent support of School rules is imperative at this important time of the year. Please ensure 'end of school' celebrations are postponed until final examinations are completed. There is significant research to suggest that extended celebrations involving alcohol can result in long term damage to the adolescent brain; in particular binge drinking can have a lasting impact on memory capability.

Our Year 12 students are entering the most critical stage of their education and it is crucial that all students have the opportunity to perform to the best of their ability.

If you have any queries about any of these matters, please feel free to contact me at the School on 9788 7713.

Yours sincerely

Margaret Hopkins
Head of Senior School
