Dear Year 11 parents
Each year the senior
students of The Peninsula School are offered the
opportunity to gather with their peers to enjoy
a casual social occasion.
A small group of
students have worked with Mrs Curtis and Mr
Downey to organise a Year 11 Social, which will
be held in The Pavilion on Saturday 1 August
from 7pm until 10pm.
Tickets cost $20 per person.
Although attendance is
not compulsory it is worth noting that this is
always an enjoyable occasion that provides staff
and students with the opportunity to interact in
a relaxed social situation. Please be aware that
the School discourages students from spending
excessive amounts of money on attire for this
occasion.
I would like to take
this opportunity to clarify the School's
position with regard to 'before' and 'after'
parties. The School undertakes the
responsibility of organising the Social;
however, it does not promote or take
responsibility for any parties that may take
place prior to or after the social. As it is an
official School function, students must not
arrive at the event under the influence of
alcohol nor are they permitted to consume
alcohol, smoke cigarettes or use any other form
of drug during the evening.
Once the students
leave The Pavilion, the School's duty of care
ceases and you, as parents, become responsible
for your son/daughter's whereabouts and
behaviour. As such I encourage you to discuss
with your son/daughter issues related to
transport home and attendance at any other
parties should they
take place.
I look forward to
sharing this occasion with your children.
