Many thanks to all the
parents who came to The School last week to hear
their sons and daughters discuss their learning,
achievements and goals for their future learning.
Despite the apprehension and nervousness the Year 8s
did a fantastic job and gained some valuable
practice for future interviews.
The conferences helped to
focus students' attention on their development and
progress and it was pleasing to hear how positive
they were when they spoke and displayed their work.
Most students were cognisant of their strengths and
displayed a pride in their learning when addressing
their audience.
It was very obvious that
our parent body is supportive and I think students
appreciated hearing their parents' favourable
comments.
The students set some
goals for the remainder of this year and into the
future and what's more they have had an audience of
witnesses. With the odd reminder, I am sure that
these goals will be achieved.
Can I please ask that you
send back any feedback about the conference process
via the questionnaires or an email to tutor Alan
Wood or myself.
