Dear Parents

The Peninsula School offers the following checks to Year 7 students at no charge to parents.

Vision and Hearing Testing - This testing is basic, and if any abnormalities are detected you will be notified personally and advised to seek further testing with the appropriate bodies.

Health Checks - These tests consist of weight and height measurement, blood pressure and urine test (for blood, glucose, nitrite, leucocytes and protein only). These tests are conducted in the privacy of the School Nurses' Rooms. There is no medical treatment administered. The students are not required to undress. A sterile container will be distributed to your child close to the day of testing. As with the hearing and vision tests you will be notified personally if any further testing is required.

These tests will be carried out during Terms 3 & 4 and will take approximately one hour per student. Test results are confidential and privacy is assured.

General practitioners do not routinely carry out these tests.

If your child has had these tests within the past 12 months it is not necessary for a re-test.

If you wish your child to have these tests please return the consent form to your child's Tutor by 31 July 2009.
